Word Up

Dun-dun-DUHHHHHHH.

It's Friday the 13th. A day that is rooted in superstition. Bad things are supposed to happen on this day. People count on it. They love the terror. That's why Jason and his creepy-ass hockey mask made so much money at the box office.

*Aside: Little trivia for you. It was actually Jason's mother who was the murderer in the first FT13 movie. So I'm told, anyway. And, Kevin Bacon was in the first movie. Big shocker. There's a Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon game for a reason.

But there are those who are firm believers in the horror that Friday the 13th represents (the day, not the movie series). I'm guessing that these people wouldn't be caught dead (ha) even leaving their houses today, for fear of something bad happening (like, um, death).

It's for these people that I strive to educate you, gentle readers, on their plight:

paraskavedekatriaphobia
The fear of Friday the 13th

I have no idea how to pronounce the word paraskavedekatriaphobia, and I'm too scared to try it today because it's Friday the 13th.
