This was never the way I planned

I've been a very bad girl.

I have neglected you, gentle readers. And that saddens me. I can only imagine how sad it makes you. No longer able to partake in my clever humour and wisdom on a (semi) regular basis. Please accept my most sincere apologies.

Okay, we're good now, right? Moving on, not dwelling on my horrid behaviour any longer.

I have been BUSY this past month! Like, crazy busy! I have so many things to discuss that I can't fit them all into one post without it becoming the length of my arm (well, maybe my leg, because my arms aren't that long, and at least the legs are a couple inches longer...can't expect much more when you're only 5' 3").

So I shall proceed to give you the Reader's Digest version of my month, in (roughly) chronological order:
  • I accepted a new position, so I had to work through the details of that and do the final clean-up at my previous job.

  • We had a ginormous family reunion with all 200+ direct descendants of my mom's parents. You can see why I don't understand things on small scales.

Hmm....wow, can I condense a story or what! I guess that's pretty much the gist of my month. It just seems like so much more because there were so many details involved around those two events.

I'm really excited for the new job. It will be the first new job I've had in seven years, so it's a big change. And, as a going-away present, my former co-workers gave me a Magic Bullet! I guess having the infomercial memorized and being able to recite it at will somehow gave them the idea that I might like one for myself! :) No idea how they got that idea. And let me tell you, it does make a pretty yummy smoothie.

The family reunion was really great. The weather held out nicely (except for one little rainstorm one night, which didn't bode so well for the tent dwellers), and I think everyone had a good time. And man, can my family toss those washers! Proud to say my brother won the tournament, thus earning him bragging rights until the next reunion...and I have no doubt that he will exercise those rights on a regular basis.

So that's my month in a nutshell, gentle readers. I hope to be a little more proactive with my blog in the coming days, but with starting a new job this week, I'm not making any promises!

Hope the summer is treatin' you right, folks.
